New Year Nia

Hi Dancing Community,

I hope you all had a restful and happy Christmas and New Year. I was lucky enough to spend time with family and friends at the coast and in the mountains, so I'm feeling refreshed and ready to seize the opportunities and adventures of 2018.

Firstly, I'm excited to announce that Term 1 Nia classes commence on Tuesday 6th of February at Lyneham Primary School at 6.15pm.

Recently, I attended a Yin and Yang of Nia workshop with Nia and 5 Stages Trainer, Laurie Bass. It was fantastic to learn about finding harmony in movement and in life. It was also useful to step back into 'beginner brain' and remember what it's like to learn new movements and sustain joy. A great reminder to release the need for perfection and 'doing it right' and instead surrender to the music, to sensation, and to the purity of dancing in community!! I hope to share my insights with you in my Nia practice in class.

One of my goals for 2018 is to expand my Nia classes to share the enriching practice and continue to build a community of joy-full, health-full and consciously connected people. In order to do this, I will be offering the following:

- regular facebook and instagram posts

- $30 new to Nia 3 class passes

- online specials - so keep a look out!

- playshops and workshops

I will also be teaching Nia classes in a collaboration with The Pillar Practice 'Let's Get Cracken-Back to Joy and Abundance' retreat. The retreat will take place from the 16th-18th March at Lack Crackenback Resort and Spa and will be the perfect place to re-align, re-balance and re-calibrate for 2018. If you're interested in finding out more about The Pillar Practice, and their unique holistic care, or the retreat please head to:

Finally, thank you to those of you who joined me in class last year and supported me in stepping into teaching again. It was a nerve-racking but hugely satisfying endeavour and I look forward to continuing to grow and learn as a teacher and mover this year.

Until we meet on the dance floor again...

With love and joy,

First Steps

It's with much excitement that I can officially announce the launch of my business Energy in Motion ā€“ Dance & Wellbeing, affectionately referred to as EM dance.

After much dreaming, reflecting, plotting and planning I have followed my passion and stepped into delivering my own dance programs and classes in numerous settings around Canberra. It's a thrill to see my in-school dance program already successfully operating and Iā€™m eager to begin Nia dance classes and creative dance classes for kids very soon.

I'm filled with gratitude at the prospect of sharing the art-form of dance to create ripples of happiness and wellbeing in my community. Thank you to my support team for walking beside me during these first steps. Emily
